Historical Attractions
Historically, Sri Lanka has been colonised by the Portuguese, the Dutch and the British but well before that its history has been bound up in the legends of the Ramayana, and home to the Sinhalese since the 6th century BC.
Our classic itinerary takes in many of the cultural and natural highlights, visiting the old capitals of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, and climbing up the rock fortress of Sigiriya. These are just some of the many UNESCO sites in Sri Lanka, ranging from medieval capitals to ancient caves.

This is a shorter tour which still offers a varied and interesting experience of Sri Lanka, and starts from £949 per person. It includes airport transfers, hotel accommodation (3*/4*) with breakfast, tour guide, air conditioned minibus and tickets to attractions, although there may be optional extra trips.
